Settlement Support

We support individuals and communities to connect, participate, belong and thrive in Central Victoria. Most supports are offered from Greater Bendigo, with group work activities also currently undertake in Macedon, Loddon and Campaspe. We offer:

  • Individual case work support for people from migrant and refugee backgrounds

  • Women’s Driving School: supporting newly arrived women to gain independence and confidence through learning to drive

  • English Social Club: a weekly opportunity to connect, make friends and increase English language skills

  • Harambee Homework Club: a weekly after-school program supporting young people to increase English and literacy skills

  •  Information sessions and group work: practical, community-led workshops to increase understanding, skills and access to a range of services and resources

"I had the great opportunity to join the Regional Victorians of Colour and Neighbourhood Collective Australia at their Women’s Self-care Hazara style breakfast, at the Old Church on the Hill in Bendigo.
It was a space, safe space and supportive space for women of all ages, backgrounds and experiences to have the time to just be there together, to share some food, a coffee and a laugh or a shoulder to lean on. I felt the connection, the care and the love women have for each other."

– Viv Nguyen, Victorian Multicultural Commissioner

We acknowledge that we live and work on the stolen lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung, Taungurung, Djab Wurrung and Jardwadjali peoples. We acknowledge Traditional Custodians across the continent and their continuing connection to the land, sea and community. We recognise that sovereignty was never ceded and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. This was and always will be Aboriginal land.
