Training and Workshops

We are currently offering 3hrs workshops on Culturally Responsive Practice in Regional Communities.

Working well with people from diverse backgrounds takes more than good intentions. This three hour workshop explores the essential skills, knowledge and attitudes needed to engage effectively and respectfully with people from migrant and refugee backgrounds who are settling in Central Victoria.

Drawing on Multicultural Connect Central Victoria's deep roots in the Loddon Campaspe region and over two decades of lived and professional experience in the multicultural sector, this training is practical, reflective and grounded in the real complexities of regional service delivery.

"I've had my learner's license for the past 9 years. My mom is a single mother, and she's the only adult in my family with a car and a full license. She often worked evening shifts, and she also didn't have the confidence to take me for practice lessons. The Women of Colour Driving project gave me the confidence I needed and helped me connect with professional and volunteer instructors very easily. With the subsidised lessons and support from the community, I got my probationary license on my first try!"

We acknowledge that we live and work on the stolen lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung, Taungurung, Djab Wurrung and Jardwadjali peoples. We acknowledge Traditional Custodians across the continent and their continuing connection to the land, sea and community. We recognise that sovereignty was never ceded and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. This was and always will be Aboriginal land.
